CO Gives A Success

facebook-badge-i-gaveA heartfelt thank you to YOU – our generous donors – for helping Clothes To Kids of Denver exceed its goal and raise $30,930 on Colorado Gives Day. This funding will be put to work immediately to help thousands of deserving students in our community feel comfortable, confident and ready to thrive. In fact, we just gave away our 7,500th wardrobe of 2016!

Your contributions allow Clothes To Kids to provide a great selection of clothing and shoes, as well as a fun shopping experience for the students we serve. Your belief in our mission is what makes the work of Clothes To Kids possible.

We are so grateful for your generosity!

Blue Jean Bash Photos!

More than 420 guests helped us celebrate the Second Annual Blue Jean Bash on September 10, 2016, at the EXDO Event Center. Thanks to our sponsors, silent auction donors, and live auction donors, we raised $145,000 for Clothes To Kids of Denver.

Our honorary event chairs, Governor John W. Hickenlooper and First Lady Robin P. Hickenlooper, helped to make the evening a huge success. Robin served as our keynote speaker and gave an inspiring presentation. And to top it off, the Governor autographed a copy of his memoir, The Opposite of Woe: My Life in Beer and Politics, which sold to the highest bidder for $1,500!

Our wonderful event co-chairs, Joyce Meyers and Jo Ann Wickens (pictured above), and our fabulous Blue Jean Bash planning committee worked hard to create a memorable evening for our guests.

Special thanks to Cathy Huttner (pictured above with her daughter, Hannah) for single handedly acquiring more than $10,000 worth of items for our silent auction. Wow!

Sponsor Blue Jean Bash

For children and teens, clothing is more than a basic need – it’s key to their success in school. When students have quality clothing that helps them feel confident, they are more likely to attend school with the self-esteem needed to succeed academically. That’s why Clothes To Kids of Denver provides new and quality used clothing free of charge to Denver Metro students who are from low-income or in-crisis families.

We invite you to help us make a difference in our shopper’s lives by sponsoring our Blue Jean Bash, scheduled for Saturday evening, September 10, 2016, at the EXDO Event Center.

For more information, please visit our Ticket Page or download our Sponsorship Information. Giving levels range from $500 to $25,000. We are also seeking items for our auctions. Questions? Donor Spotlight – Digabit Digs in its Closets for Donations

Local software company Digabit, Inc. wanted to reach out to a community organization during the holidays to offer employees a chance to give back. They found out about Clothes To Kids and felt like it was a great fit, because the weather’s turning colder in Colorado and they wanted to make an immediate impact for local children.

Digabit-Clothes-to-Kids-Denver-donation-boxDigabit has organized an employee clothes drive that culminates at the company’s annual holiday celebration on December 11th. They’ve set up a donation box in the office lobby and have nearly filled it to the rim!

Employees will continue to bring their cash and clothing donations to work until the party, and we’re excited to see what they end up delivering to the store. This is great timing as the clothes will come in right around the busy holiday break period.

Let’s help our kids get off to a good start in the second half of the school year! For more information on needed items, here is a link to the Clothes To Kids Donation Guidelines.
