FAQs

What does Clothes To Kids do?

The mission of Clothes To Kids of Denver is to provide new and quality used clothing to students from low-income or in-crisis families in the Denver Metro Area, free of charge. Clothes To Kids is not a consignment store and distributes all of the items that are donated to students in the community for free.

How do families find out about you?

Families find out about Clothes To Kids through schools, school districts, human service agencies, shelters, hospitals, clinics and places of worship throughout the 10-county Denver Metro Area. To visit Clothes To Kids, families must have a referral and an appointment to shop. Learn more about our Referral Process and Eligibility Requirements.

What are your most needed clothing items?

Clothes To Kids gladly accepts all clothing that would be appropriate for children and youth grades preschool-12th grade to wear to school. Please see our Donation Guidelines for a full list accepted items and greatest needs.

Who receives the clothing?

The students who shop at Clothes To Kids are experiencing some very difficult circumstances including poverty, homelessness, displacement and home removal. Many are refugees or are in foster care. Most of our shoppers are enrolled in preschool through 12th grade, and we also serve young adults pursuing a GED (up to 21 years old). Please review our Eligibility Guidelines for more information.

We are located at 2890 S. Colorado Blvd., Unit M-3, Denver, CO 80222. The store is in the same shopping center as Sprouts Market and Rite Aid, across from the entrance to the Chez Artiste Theater and under Tuesday Morning. Click here for a Map and Directions.

When are you open?

We accept donations 24 hours per day/7 days per week in our grey outdoor collection bin, located in the righthand corner of the small courtyard between our shop and the Chez Artiste movie theater. The bin is right outside the door to our Donation Center.

Where does your clothing come from?

Most of our clothing is donated from local families who have kids that have outgrown their clothes. Many organizations, churches, schools and corporations help stock our store with clothing drives and through our Apparel Partners that provide new clothing. Please take a look at our Donation Guidelines to help get you started with your own collection!

How do I become a financial supporter?

All of our funding comes from individuals, corporations, churches, civic and fraternal organizations and foundations. Clothes To Kids receives no federal or state funding.

We gratefully accept all financial gifts. We are a non-profit organization and all contributions made to our organization are tax deductible.
